Farmers Market - Saturday Mornings

If by some chance you’ve planned a trip to Madison without someone mentioning the farmers market, please let this be your sign to go! It is the country’s largest producer-only farmers market and wraps around all four sides of the capitol building (+ it only has one flow of traffic which really makes it enjoyable).

Bike Around Town

Our favorite way to see Madison is on an electric bike via BCycle. These are hop-on-hop-off bikes that you can use to get nearly anywhere around the lakes. A guest pass is $20 for 24 hours of unlimited use.

Memorial Union Terrace

The Union is lakefront on the University of Wisconsin campus. You can usually catch people sunbathing, drinking Spotted Cows and listening to live music in the evenings. There is also a student-run ice cream shop with some fun, creative flavors.

State Capitol Lookout

One things that makes Madison so beautiful is that every building must be shorter than the dome of the Capitol building. You can even visit the rooftop terrace and get the best 360-degree view of the whole city. The building is open during all business hours and be sure to follow the signs to the rooftop. Note: there will be stairs to get to the top.
